Great value Lego set
I bought this set for my son who is 6. The set is incredibly detailed and of great quality. It took us both a long time to work through the colour instruction booklets, which take you visually step by step through each stage of construction of the police station, cars etc.

The toy is great value for money as there's hours of play to be had with a Lego set of this size. My only gripe is that there are so many tiny, tiny pieces it's impossible not to lose some of them to the vacuum cleaner!

Sharp new HQ for the Fuzz!
The Lego Police Station has always been one of the cornerstone products of the Town/City range, and this new version is no exception. In fact, it probably trumps every preceeding set, its that good!

We'll get the negatives (such as they are) out the way sharpish. The modular construction is fine, and like the Castle stuff, allows for various reconfigurations. However, there are a lot of smooth tiles used at various contact points where parts of the building fit together (notably the watchtower and interview room) which means the structure doesn't hold together as sturdily as it should. If knocked, this means whole parts of the building come away. This can easily be remedied by using studded beams in these areas, which is something I will be looking into myself. There are also a large number of decals to apply. This is a personal thing, but I much prefer tampographed bricks. Adding stickers not only limits the reuse of said bricks in other creations, but it also prohibits it as the stickers increase the size of the brick (albeit by fractions of millimetres), making it awkward to fit next to non-stickered bricks should you wish to create your own models.

Right, now thats out the way, lets focus on what this set does have, which is a ton of features and details! The play value of this set is immense! The jail cells and watchtower are excellent and thanks to a nifty bit of engineering, you can stage your own jail break as sections of the wall can be flipped away. The cells themselves are superb, with graffiti, toilets, mugs and beds. Clearly, these are cells for some of the worst elements of Lego City, as they are open to the elements! There is some nice detailing with manual keys pegged up, as well as an electronic key pad for the cells, plus a storage rack for the handcuffs!

Elsewhere, the main station has two garages for housing the panda car and (my favourite) the dog handler's van (complete with fearsome police dog!). Inside the garage is a tool stand comprising a spanner and hammer for those routine maintenance jobs. Up the flight of stairs leads you to the desk sergeant, busy tapping away at a computer (with keyboard and flatscreen, no less!) and next to him is the top copper, sitting at his desk doing...stuff. There's also a safe and water cooler on this level too!

Above them is the interview room, complete with mirrored wall! The interview room has an adjustable lamp (perfect for good cop bad cop scenarios!), as well as a notice board with various mug shots. Those watching the interview can help themselves to a coffee from the coffee machine (a shame there's no doughnuts included!).

The vehicles themselves are excellent. Whereas previous Lego Police Stations have given us a reductionist version of sets available separately, these stand up well to their `sold separately' competitors.

With seven minifigures and a police dog, there is ample scope for your own police adventures. A superb set, and despite the relatively high price tag, remains excellent value for money. Highly Recommended!

Lots and lots of fun!
This toy was bought for my six year old son for Christmas. We spent lots of fun time making up the police station and my son has been playing with it ever since. He won't let me break it back up!! It IS time consuming to make but that is part of the appeal. Once made, it is fairly solid and doesn't come apart too easily in normal play.

Perfect Present
This was our first box of small lego, as opposed to duplo. The box had a huge variety of pieces and all of my children are still playing with them a month after Christmas. None of their other Christmas presents have been able to sustain their interest for this amount of time so all in all a huge success. The only thing is to expect a number of pieces of lego to slowly disperse into the various nook and crannies of your house and disappear!

Amazing
I saved up for this bakugan pack and when I got it I was Amazed to find that the bakugan I got were in the baku core series. Bakugan in the bakuk core series look amazing. And now I have 12 bakugan so I can play 4 player or 6 on 6. One poblem One of the cards I couldn't use so I guess I will have to keep colecting untill I can. So the summary is Amazing ,but the card I can't use the very high G-power makes up for that,.

Lovely book for my 2 year old to get started in colouring and learning parts of the face.

This was part of the things we bought for our 2yr old Grandson to take on holiday.He really liked it.The faces are big and bright,and FUNNY!!!You should buy this book,your little one won't be disappointed or "you".

gives you 5 minutes peace
this was a lot of fun for my 2 year old who has just learnt eyes, nose face etc etc

I did manage to put a nose in the eye space which made him laugh...:)

Creative and versatile fun!
Aimed at the 7+ age group, you start by building the game board. The building was enjoyable - particularly for those children who already enjoy playing with lego. The instructions are clear, and easy to follow. My 6 year was able to follow the instructions with minimal prompting. With two children doing it - it's also a good exercise in cooperative play. It's surprising how others quickly wanted to join in as soon as the building began! The white card guide for where to put the "hedges" was really useful, and made the building of the labyrinth very straightforward. On an educational front the children practice fine motor movement, number and shape skills, and symmetry.
The Minotaur was a bit harder to build, and some strength was required to get the lego rod inside the Minotaur. But that was a minor niggle - once built, the Minotaur never needs to be dismantled, and is such a central piece, that it's probably an advantage that it's unlikely to break up.
The game took my kids half an hour to build. I typed up some of the comments they made while building: "It says put these flat bits on top of the stones", "It says we've got to build the hedges in the gaps", and, "This board game really is clever".

As you would expect from a lego game, there is room for plenty of creativity. You can design your own labyrinths, rather than relying on the suggested layout. You can alter the rules - or mix and match the entire set with other lego. If you have any other baseplates and some general lego to raise the second base plate above the first, then it would be relatively easy to make a two or even three level version. The only limit would be the imagination. The other aspect I really like - is that it wouldn't be a disaster if some of the parts got lost. The game would still be playable. Besides - you can always cannabalise other lego as replacements.

The rules of the game are simple, and easy to pick up. And yet the game is remarkably fun. It's a bit like Ludo, but far more fun to play. The object is to get at least one of your pieces to the centre. Players shake a dice, for a number 3,4,5,6 or a grey square to be able to move a wall to block an opponent's route, or a black square to be able to move the Minotaur 8 squares. The Minotaur can land on player's pieces, sending them back to the start. Different strategies start to come out, do you block an opponent - or block the Minotaur? Do you try to persuade other players to help you? A simple game can take 5 to 10 minutes. If your aim is to get 3 pieces into the centre, it can take longer.

I would strongly recommend this. It's a great board game, particularly for creative children. It's so versatile, that it's probably one of the best board game options around for 7-11 year olds. Not only can they play the game as it is, but the possibilities to mix with other lego could lead to endless ideas. My three spent a good couple of hours with it as soon as it came out of the box, rating it 10/10 - and are nagging at me to play again as I type!

Classic Lego with a board game twist - fun!
It's Lego right? You build it, you play with it, you knock it down and make it into something different.

The special feature in Minotaurus is that the model you build is actually a board game. It's quite fun too - a bit like snakes and ladders, except that there is only one snake (the Minotaur) and your opponents get to control it, provided that the special die comes up with the "Move Minotaur" side.

There's another special roll that lets you move blocking pieces to make it harder for the opposition to thread its way through the maze.

The game is mostly luck I guess, though good strategy will win out over numerous games. Until you lose there is always hope, since a Minotaur bite sends one of your opponent's pieces back to the start.

This being Lego, you can adapt the board and make up your own rules - the enclosed booklet has some suggestions.

This product has a relatively simple build which makes it ideal for younger builders but older builders may find it very fun to build as well. The product comes with a grid which you put onto the baseplate to build around when you get to the stage at which you are building the actual labyrinth. The Minotaur is a slightly more complex
build which would add to the fun for older enthusiasts, whilst still staying easy enough for a five year old to build. The Minotaur also comes with some rare elements.

Play Value
I enjoyed the creative aspect of the game because if the die landed on grey you had to move a wall. The game was very unpredictable-the Minotaur can turn the whole game around! All in all a very fun board game experience.

I'd just add that while it has good play value, you don't get that many bricks for your money. You do however get a standard green base plate which will come in handy long after the game is forgotten.

Lego as a board game...genius
Me, like most fun loving people out there....really like lego.
You can build whatever you want with it...so why not a board game.

This game called minotaurs is exactly that. You play as 2 to 4 teams, and the aim is to get 1-4 of your men through the maze, avoiding the minotaur and into the centre. The moves of the characters and minotaur are controlled by a funky looking die.
There are many fun extras in the game such as moveable walls, which can either block you, opponents or even the minotaur. The game is really simple, and quite a lot of fun. The more people playing the funner it is, and many strategies can be formed.

The game itself took about 20mins to assemble, with simple instructions. Once assembled it can be keep in the box without the need to disassemble and reassemble every time.

There are different types of rules to the game, if you decide to spice things up a little bit. These different rules are found at the back of the instruction booklet.

Overall a really enjoyable game, for ages 7+ I reckon, and good for the whole family with hours of fun.

Very good design
The looks is very good and visually pleasing. Generally, the quality of Lego products is excellent. The blocks are very durable and they are not easily damaged, scratched and don't lose color. Instructions are good and there are no missing components. The construction process is very educational for at least younger children. It teaches motor and visual skills, geometry, shaping of spatial objects and numbers - much better than many ready-made toys.

Not robust enough to actually play with
My son has just finished successfully putting this together (aged 7). Instructions were clear and he enjoyed the process. However, when we shelled out for this, we were expecting the result to be a spaceship that he could actually play with. However, it's so fragile and the 'wings' are connected to the body with such flimsy fixings that they fall off all the time. It wouldn't have taken much for the designers to have added a couple of extra components to make it more robust. For the money, I feel that we've only got half of the possible value in this toy. My son is now downstairs building a starship out of his own lego that he can actually play with.

solid, qaulity build, kids love it
my 6 and 8 year olds have been wanting these for ages. very solid and well built, feel high quality. so far no signs of wear/tear with some quite aggressive riding. kids were particularly pleased with this version - see them as stunt scooters used by older kids, rather than blue/red and silver versions used by the younger kids. apparently these scooters are "spun", whatever that means. seems worth the extra money.

Really cool, very sturdy and great value for money - my teen son loves it. when he scooters into town, he can collapse it and wear it with the strap, looks good and practical.

Excellent scooter
My 9 year old wanted this for his birthday. He has had this for 1 month and it hardly leaves his side. He does tricks and stunts on it and rides it to school every day. He is delighted with it. As the one who paid for it I cannot rate this highly enough. I am a strict judge of toys and this one is certainly excellent value for money as well as enjoyment and play value. If you're stuck on which wheels to buy your child then I definately think this one is the most successful.

High pressure space wings!
Now I bought this toy at my local Disney store, but I think this page would benefit from having at least one review on it

As a child of six when the original Toy Story came out, I had both Buzz and Woody when the toys were released. However grateful I was for that, its hard to admit the originals lacked the coolness seen in the films, this Buzz Lightyear IS the Buzz you see in the film with one omission - the karate chop action (though the one feature I never cared for)

The most striking thing once you get Buzz is the packaging - if you remember the awesome spaceship he came in in the films, they've done a fantastic job of recreating this (even down to the cardboard wings!), you'll get a certificate of authenticity with every Buzz too!

Onto the action figure itself though, he is proportioned wonderfully and he looks exactly like the Buzz we all love - he has many more points of articulation than the original toy released for the first film, his arms and legs swivel and rotate - his waist is on a ratchet and covered entirely in soft rubber (no hard plastic this time) which moves around, up, down and side to side

He has his brilliant Star Command flip up communicator in his arm, which when opened and closed makes wonderful sound effects, his laser has the same 'pulsating laser light' sound you know from the film also

The highlight of the toy visually however - is his 'high pressure space wings'. They release at the press of a button to yet more sound effects and spring out faithfully to show off an impressive wingspan, now this Buzz has lights on the tip of his wings, one green, one red and they take turns in blinking

Its worth mentioning that he has a couple of different modes, his 'space ranger' mode, and his 'toy' mode which are activated by his blue and red chest buttons respectively (the green is for the interactive mic feature). His space ranger mode is like having him come alive and he'll even complain about his eyes being sucked out of their sockets if you open up his space helmet (which comes complete with wooshing sounds), his head is motorised so he'll look around and talk - to you, about star command and even The Evil Emperor Zurg which occasionally prompts a laser blast

In his toy mode his head will remain static, his speaker will go quieter and tinny and he'll say a range of quotes you'd expect from a toy, (his sound effects such as the helmet wooshing, arm communicator and space wings will remain)

This is a pretty cool toy whichever way you look at it, and any child would really love it, but for those of you who grew up captivated by this particular Space Ranger, he now truly is the Swiss army knife of all toys, and as a result also the perfect replica

Perfect Buzz Lightyear
Thomas had described it perfectly.
This IS the authentic Buzz Lightyear that we can see in the movies. I think that nobody will create a better version.

The Ultimate Buzz Lightyear is incoming and it seems to be alife (but, for example, it has not wings), but this is the best toy version.

Need for Power !
Two learning points for this toy :
1. Don't forget to turn the switch from "Demo" to "On" otherwise most of the features don't work.
2. It didn't work properly until we gave it new batteries, then everything was fine.

I saw several other reviews for this product which said that the head movement wouldn't work. Well, the one we have doesn't have that problem.

Good value for money
I was really pleased with this jigsaw, which i bought as a Christmas present. It came in a sturdy box, rather than the flimsy ones which lots of toys seem to come in nowadays. It was also challenging enough to take a while to do. However, it may be a bit too easy for children over 5. Good quality and very good value for money.

Gruffalo floor Puzzle
Why didn't I buy this before now? We got this in conjunction with the DVD and all three of our girls love it. The youngest at only 1 year old enjoys getting amongst it with her bigger sisters. Brilliant!!

Good fun for a 3 year old
Our grandson who is nearly three, thought this was good fun, although he is a Gruffalo fan.

Nerf Stampede.... where to start?

First of all, this is a great toy for little kids, big kids and adults alike. it shoots about 3 darts per sec. Comes with 60 darts, 3x18 dart clips and 1x6 dart clip.
It also has a bi-pod/foregrip and a shield (the shield is pretty fun but its nigh-impossible to aim while using it).
It requires 6xD batteries which does make the back of the gun a bit heavy. but nowhere near as heavy as the vulcan.
Pros/Cons:

Pros:
Fully automatic
4 clips and lots of darts in the box + goodies (shield/grip)
Good weight (can be fired with one hand but isnt so light that its not much fun using)
Darts fire about 10m/30ft.
theres alot of rails for sights/lasers/torches
its just a really good gun

Cons:
Cannot be fired without batteries (no manual single shot action like in the vulcan (but the vulcan did jam a hell of a lot)
jam clearing door does tend to pop open sometimes. the locking action is a bit weak (easier for small kids annoying for big ones)
loading an 18 dart clip from scratch is a tad annoying after a while

The grip does not lock that well!!! if you pick the gun up by the foregrip the grip will slide off the gun and the gun will fall. This ISNT a bother when your shooting since it only slides one way... but realisticly the grip is there not only to hold but to pick up aswell.

Overall:
A bit educational since you can see how the gun works (but what kid will bother to understand it)
Its not full metal... it will break if you drop it from a height but it is NERF... NERF products have been known to last a hell of a long time.
Its alot of fun. shooting at siblings or other people makes this gun alot of fun.(or playing Humans vs Zombies on uni campus).

My advice is if you can afford it and you are into these; it is VERY good value for money.

the entertainer
toy is good, but the problem is the entertainer, [the seller]. firstly they lost my origional delivery & were as about as helpfull as a chocolate fire gaurd when trying to resolve this! finally i recieved the toy 3 weeks late after numerous emails & phone calls from myself, also found that they were £10 dearer than everyone else!
look out for this seller when purchasing toys I will never use them again!
